This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application (“App”) and related services.

- Personal Information: Name, email address, and profile details obtained through Google or Apple Sign-In. When you log in with your account, we only receive the information you authorize (name, email, and profile photo). We do not have access to your Google or Apple password or contacts.
- Journal Content: Text entries, reflections, and emotional descriptions you write in the app. These may be analyzed by AI models to generate personalized messages, reflections, and emotional insights.
- Voice Recordings and Audio Input: Audio data you record using the app’s microphone feature for voice journaling or speech-to-text input. Recordings are processed securely and only used to transcribe or interpret your voice input for your own journaling purposes.
- Photos and Media: Images or videos you capture with your camera or select from your device’s gallery, used for journaling or emotional-wellness visualization.
- Device & Usage Data: Device type, operating system, app version, IP address, crash logs, and app interaction data.
- Identifiers: Device identifiers (such as Android Advertising ID or Apple IDFA) used for analytics and advertising purposes.
2. Permissions We Request
To provide Lumina’s full experience, the app may request access to the following device permissions:
- Google and Apple Sign-In: Used for authentication and to associate your entries with your account. You can disconnect your Google or Apple account anytime from your Google or Apple settings or within Lumina.
- Camera: Allows you to take photos or videos for your journal. The camera is only accessed when you choose to open it within the app.
- Photo Library / Gallery: Enables you to upload existing images or videos from your device. Lumina never scans your gallery automatically.
- Microphone: Allows you to record voice notes, reflections, or use voice-to-text journaling features. Audio is only recorded when you intentionally activate the microphone feature within Lumina.
- Storage: Used to temporarily cache data, media, and journal entries for offline use and faster performance.
- Internet Access:Required to connect securely with our servers, process AI responses, and synchronize your journal across devices.
- Notifications: Used to send reminders, motivational prompts, and daily reflections.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and personalize your journaling and emotional-wellness experience.
- Process your text, audio, and visual entries to generate AI-powered insights and reflections.
- Improve the accuracy and quality of our AI systems.
- Maintain and optimize app performance.
- Offer customer support and technical assistance.
- Deliver and measure advertising effectiveness (if applicable).
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
4. Data Storage & Retention
All data is securely stored on Google Cloud servers.
- Journal, audio, and media entries: Retained for up to 24 months to improve AI accuracy and service quality, then anonymized or deleted.
- Account data (Google and Apple Sign-In): Retained while your account remains active.
- Usage and analytics data: Stored for up to 36 months for performance analysis and maintenance.
You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 7).
5. Sharing of Data
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share limited data only with:
- Trusted service providers who help operate the app (e.g., Google Cloud, Firebase).
- Analytics and advertising partners, such as:
- Google Analytics / Firebase: Collect anonymized usage, crash, and performance data.
- Meta Ads Manager: Measures engagement and advertising effectiveness.
Each partner processes information according to its own privacy policy.
We may also share information with legal authorities when required by applicable law or to protect our rights.
6. Advertising & Cookies
Lumina may use cookies, SDKs, and device identifiers to:
- Analyze app performance and engagement.
- Deliver and measure the effectiveness of ads.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal information.
- Restrict or object to certain types of processing.
- Withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior lawful processing.
Account & Data Deletion: You can delete your Lumina account or request complete data removal through the app settings or by contacting lumina.support@epiphytegens.com.
8. Children’s Privacy
Lumina is intended for users aged 13 and older (or the age of digital consent in your region).
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age.
If we become aware of such collection, we will delete the data promptly.
